I Survived the 80s #2: Licorice Pizza

Licorice Pizza was a chain of Southern California record stores. It draws its name from an old Abbott and Costello routine where they try to sell records, unsuccessfully: "Well we could sprinkle cornstarch on the bottom and sell them as Licorice Pizzas."

It flourished in the 1970s and died in the early 80s when it was bought by Sam Goodie.
