In Buster Keaton's great short "Cops," what I guess to be an Anarchist appears for a brief moment, tossing a bomb into the middle of a parade of policemen. When the bomb falls into Buster's hands, he takes the blame for the Anarchist's actions and mayhem ensues.
What I find most interesting here is that, at the time "Cops" was made, violent Anarchists were so much a part of the popular consciousness that they could be a plot point in a silent comedy short.
"Cops" was made in 1922.
